When I first heard about Boscia Luminizing Black Mask, I was immediately drawn to try it because peel-offs are my favourite type of face mask! One of the reason why I love peel off masks is the simplicity of it; most peel off masks (if you use it correctly) eliminates the rinsing procedure. Peel-off masks can be completely peeled off your skin when it dries, leaving skin ready for skin care products to follow up. Some people that don’t apply enough of the product, or don’t wait until the mask is completely dry, have difficult time peeling off the entire mask, and are often left with bits and pieces still on the face which they end up having to rinse off with water. I’ll talk more about the correct way to use this product, but first, let’s go over some of the key ingredients and what this product is supposed to do for our skin:
Boscia Luminizing Black Mask is made with all natural ingredients; some of the key ingredients are Calcium Montmorillionite Clay, Pine Bar Extract, Vitamin C, Witch Hazel, Rosemary Leaf Extract, Eucalytpus Extract.
- Vitamin C helps brighten skintone and reduce the look of fine lines.
- Calcium Montmorillionite Clay absorbs excess oil, dirt and toxins from the skin
- Pine Bark Extract, a powerful antioxidant, conditions the skin and defends from free radical damage.
This product claims to be “an innovative peel off mask that boosts skin clarity and radiance” by “removing dirt and impurities while refining the look of pores” and “reveals a smoother, brighter complexion.”
In my opinion, after trying out two tubes of this product in the past six months, Boscia Luminizing Black actually does do most of what it claims. I’m not so convinced about it boosting radiance, but it definitely does a good job of removing dirt and impurities as well as giving appearance of smaller pores and brighter skin. These effects seems to last about a day or two, and longer lasting with consistent use (1-2 times a week).
IMPORTANT: To get full benefits of this peel-off mask, you must apply generous amount of the product. Apply on freshly cleansed, towel dried face, or after toner/skin softner. Make sure you apply a thick evenly spread out layer. This will make the later step of peel-off much more efficient. Only peel off the mask when it’s completely dry! Peel off from bottom to top (start peeling from chin area and slowly try to peel off the entire mask all at once). Once you’ve successfully peeled off the entire mask, take a look at the peeled off mask to see if the mask has peeled off some of your blackheads and other gunk! You should be able to see some of your pore imprints and black heads (especially around the nose area) which will help you confirm that you’ve used this mask successfully! I do not recommend using this mask more than 1-2 times a week (as that may dry, irritate, and strip too much of your natural skin oils), and don’t forget to follow up with appropriate skin care products right after the peel-off!
